How do I know which firmware I have?
1) Turn on Receiver
2) HOLD down the "Display" button and press "Standby" button once.
3) Release the "Display" button.
4) Press the + or ? keys to cycle forward and backward through all the firmware display pages.
? The firmware will be come in WAV audio format that your burn onto a CD using your computers CD burner. Please be sure its an audio CD and not a data CD when you burn this data to the disc. After your burn the disc play it into a CD player that has an optical output. Attach a optical cable to your optical input slot #1 on your receiver.
? Updating the firmware requires around 1-2 minutes to complete. During the upgrade, should any loss of power occur, or should any cables become unplugged, your receiver will become non-functional and will need to be sent to a service center to be repaired.
? Updating the firmware will clear any saved settings on your receiver (i.e. Speaker Setup, Input Setup, etc.). You can attempt to use the save settings command found in the secret menu settings information in the question above. This may or may not save your settings but its worth trying.
The latest firmware can be downloaded from Onkyo's website at the following link.
